Senior high school pupils are scheduled to return to class today in the next key phase of the government’s plan to lift restrictions imposed in March to curb the spread of the new coronavirus.  But some students do not plan to go to school and will continue internet lessons instead.  Students and teachers will follow all hygiene rules and will host a maximum of 15 students.

Also today, retail stores reopen, as well as driving schools.

There were no deaths from the coronavirus pandemic and only six new cases over the last 24 hours, Greek authorities announced Sunday.

DIAS police team is operating at the Public Power Corporation headquarters in Athens, where people gathered did not follow «social distancing» rules properly.

There will be more frequent buses and trains on public transport in Athens and Thessaloniki from today, while the use of face masks on all public transport is mandatory.

Millions of people across Europe are set to embrace a relaxation of stay-at-home rules today. In France members of the public were able to walk outside without filling in a permit for the first time in nearly eight weeks. In Spain, urban hotspots such as Madrid and Barcelona remain under lockdown – but elsewhere people made plans to meet friends and family in bars and restaurants that have outdoor spaces.
